Residential Solar
Ysselstein Residential Solar + EV NEM
Residential solar installation in the Hamilton/Stoney Creek area, completed in spring 2025 with a focus on quality installation, communication and project coordination
Project Summary
Sunvibe designed a residential solar PV system for a Stoney Creek homeowner using 23 LONGi 445W solar modules, creating a high-capacity rooftop array designed around the property's available roof area and electrical requirements.
Project Overview
The project was developed as a residential rooftop solar installation in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
The engineering design specified 23 LONGi LR7-54HGBB-445 modules, representing approximately 10.24 kW of DC solar capacity.
Rather than treating the roof as a simple mounting surface, the project required detailed planning around module placement, roof geometry, attachment points, electrical routing, and the property's existing electrical infrastructure.
The Challenge
Residential solar design has to balance energy production with the physical and electrical characteristics of the property.
Key considerations included:
Maximizing available rooftop solar capacity.
Designing the array around the existing roof configuration.
Determining appropriate module placement and attachment locations.
Coordinating the PV system with the property's electrical infrastructure.
Developing engineering documentation suitable for permitting and installation.
Maintaining a clean and practical rooftop layout.
The Solution
Sunvibe's project design included:
23 × LONGi LR7-54HGBB-445 solar modules.
Approximately 10.24 kW DC solar capacity.
Engineered roof-mounted PV array.
Detailed module layout and attachment design.
Electrical line diagram and system calculations.
Equipment specifications and installation documentation.
The result was a professionally engineered residential solar design focused on making effective use of the property's available roof area while maintaining the technical requirements necessary for a compliant solar installation.
