Residential Solar Installation

Project Summary

Sunvibe designed and coordinated a 10.40 kW rooftop solar PV system for a Hamilton homeowner, combining 21 high-efficiency 495W LONGi solar modules with a SolarEdge Energy Hub inverter and module-level power optimization.

Project Overview

The property presented an opportunity to use multiple roof sections to create a substantial residential solar array while working within the existing layout of the home.

SunVibe's project design incorporated 21 LONGi LR5-66HPH-495M modules across two roof sections, producing a 10.40 kW DC system paired with a 10.00 kW AC SolarEdge Energy Hub inverter.

The system was engineered around the property's existing electrical infrastructure, with the design incorporating SolarEdge P505 power optimizers, dedicated disconnects, utility interconnection equipment, and detailed electrical documentation.

The Challenge

Designing a larger residential system requires more than simply filling available roof space.

Key considerations included:

  • Utilizing two separate roof sections efficiently.

  • Working within existing roof and structural conditions.

  • Maintaining required fire pathways and roof setbacks.

  • Coordinating the solar system with the home's existing 100A electrical service.

  • Designing the electrical connection and disconnect configuration for utility interconnection.

  • Providing detailed engineering documentation for the solar installation.

The Solution

SunVibe's design incorporated:

  • 21 × LONGi LR5-66HPH-495M 495W solar modules.

  • 10.40 kW DC system capacity.

  • 10.00 kW AC inverter capacity.

  • SolarEdge Energy Hub SE10000H-US inverter.

  • 21 SolarEdge P505 power optimizers.

  • Two roof-mounted array sections.

  • Detailed electrical line diagram and system calculations.

  • Utility interconnection and disconnect configuration.

The final design demonstrates how a residential solar project can be engineered around the property's existing electrical and roof conditions rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all installation.

Client Testimonial

Our solar project was done properly and professionally by Sunvibe Solar. Special thanks to Sasha, the project manager. He is communicative, and a quick learner. He made sure we had a clear understanding of the project and its phases. The company uses your own money to make business. Other companies use their own funds, not this one. After getting to know him, I had no qualms with advance payments. I recommend doing an electrical inspection before you start talking with any company about going solar. The existing structure of your home will determine the total capacity of the system based on the amperage maximum capacity of the electrical structure. Any projections based on anything else are just fantasy. You will have to redo it. Also, the solar modules should produce at least 25% more than what you are aiming for. The panels do not produce 100% of what they say, but about 75%. Make sure you do not get a derated inverter. I hope this is helpful to everyone. I am happy with the overall quality of the product.
