Solar panels can remain productive for decades.
But the inverter is a different story.
The inverter is one of the most important electronic components in a solar energy system because it converts the DC electricity generated by the solar array into AC electricity that the property can use.
Eventually, every inverter needs to be evaluated for replacement, repair, or continued operation.
How Long Does a Solar Inverter Last?
There is no single expiration date for an inverter.
